Dear Peanut,

Today is the 12th of June. It is our country's Independence day! Yey! Your Mother and I played our national anthem to commemorate it. I thought we should have visited Narra (Filipino restaurant in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia) for some good ol' Filipino food.

Though that's fine, you know why? Because we're going back home to the Philippines! Yes, the place where infrastructure is dated, the government is crappy, and traffic is horrendous.

I have lived in Malaysia in for almost 3 years. It is a nice country, kind of similar to ours but uhhmmm, better. Okay, a whhhhooolllee lllloooott beeetteerrr. Low taxes, good infrastructure, a better quality of life but I know deep down, it's not home.

I would like to think it's fate that I also got a new job back home at the same time you will be coming. I know it will be hard to leave all the comforts and advantages of living abroad but it would be best if you know where you come from and be with your people.

Despite all the cynical descriptions of our home I posted above, I know that our country has great food, world-class beaches, and people who always smile and laugh even in the face of adversity. Beer is cheap, too. :D

I really don't know what to expect in our country when we get back but there's only one way to find out. :D

It is I, your creator and eminence. You can address me as Supreme Commander (SC).  I hope you are doing well.

It has roughly been 3 months since we have found out that you are already forming in your mother's womb.

March 3, 2017.  I would never forget that day. I had an interview in the morning, stuff happened at work, and in the evening, your mother decided to take a pregnancy exam and found it positive.

I really didn't know what to feel at that moment, though I remember that your mother is already freaking out, haha.

Yeah, so we went to the doctor to confirm and she did confirm your mother is indeed pregnant. We had an ultrasound but all we saw was a grape-like thing at that time, though the doctor said it was you.

It seems this is really happening. We are going to have a child.
